How does women's history add to our understanding of American history? Why is it important for women to voice their testimony of issues such as race, featurism, class and feeling a lack of acknowledgement?
For our third Paint and Joce Workshop we will be highlighting the theme: “Through Her Eyes”.
In this workshop participants will focus on women’s history in the United States, and explore activism and leadership throughout time. In addition, We will engage in a guided paint session, and explore the themes just mentioned. Painting materials and light refreshments will be provided by BElite.
As part of the workshop experience, we are also asking participants to invite a special guest to join them, someone who they view as a Radical Woman in their life. This could be mentor, educator, healthcare worker, mother, sister, or dearest friend. Participants are allowed to bring 2 people max as a special guest. This request is optional but highly encouraged.
All of the works created in this workshop will be on display in conjunction with StudioBE's Rebel Girls and Radical Women Art Experience. This experience will be free and open to BElite (Rebel Girls) and their special guests (Radical Women.)

About BElite:
BElite is a youth-led creative network under the Eternal Seeds non profit, founded and based in New Orleans, LA. In addition to highlighting our own talents in various mediums, our mission is rooted in providing opportunities for young Black creatives in New Orleans to gain experience on producing and managing artistic projects. We aim to disrupt and redefine the harmful narrative associated with NOLA adolescents. Ultimately, while leading by example, we hope to be a light for future art-driven Black youth and let the family we’ve built serve as a safe space for those who are interested.
