This collection is a continuation of our curiosity surrounding art and its relation to environmental justice. Last year it was in response to covid, this year it’s in response to climate change and sustainability. We asked ourselves how we can create with what we already have? Why is it important that we’re more intentional about how we consume and make art?
Join us in viewing the visual conclusions we came to at BElite's first fashion show this Friday, Jan 6th, at StudioBE. We’ll be showcasing 1 of 1 upcycled pieces and more, come shine with us!
(admission is free but we do encourage attendees to donate any unwanted clothes of theirs.)

About BElite:
BElite is a youth-led creative network under the Eternal Seeds non profit, founded and based in New Orleans, LA. In addition to highlighting our own talents in various mediums, our mission is rooted in providing opportunities for young Black creatives in New Orleans to gain experience on producing and managing artistic projects. We aim to disrupt and redefine the harmful narrative associated with NOLA adolescents. Ultimately, while leading by example, we hope to be a light for future art-driven Black youth and let the family we’ve built serve as a safe space for those who are interested.
About Eternal Seeds
Eternal Seeds is a community-based nonprofit, founded by Brandan BMike Odums, that serves artists in New Orleans. We center all of our work around education, empowerment, and the preservation of New Orleans Black history and culture, with a focus on young and emerging artists. Harnessing the power of creative expression and community, we provide artists with tools they need to become the revolutionary leaders and shapers of a more just, equitable, and artful world.
